Quamrul Utshob 2012 will be held countrywide
A press conference on 'Quamrul Utshob 2012' was held on January 31, 2012 at the Liberation War Museum in the city. The festival will start on February 2, 2012 and will continue throughout the month.
Mr. Taslim Ahmed, Head of Corporate Communications and Public Relations of Citycell; Dr. Anisuzzaman, Mr. Rezanur Rahman, Editor of Anando Alo; reputed artists Mr. Quayyum Chowdhury, Mr. Hashem Khan, Mr. Mostafa Monwar; cultural artist Mr. Syed Hasan Imam and Mr. Shahidul Alam Sachchu, Program Director of Channel i were present at the press conference.
Potua Quamrul Hassan (1921-1988) was one of the pioneering painters of Bangladesh, recognized for reintroducing folk and traditional elements through his art. Quamrul Hassan chose to give the folk art tradition a new lease of life by incorporating modern ideas in it. He was a versatile artist working in practically all media including oil, gouache, watercolors, pastel, etching, woodcut, linocut, pen and pencil.
According to organizers, the festival will be held countrywide. There will be demonstrations of his artworks, seminars, art competition, essay competition and more at the festival.
The press conference was organized in association with Citycell. Other partners were Channel i, Anando Alo, Saptahik, bdnews24, Ayesha Memorial Hospital, Twee Consulting Group, Studio 2000; event partner is Event Master International.

Citycell recently signed an agreement with Seagull Hotels Limited. Under this agreement, Citycell employees and customers will enjoy special discounts on different services of Seagull Hotels Ltd. This includes 45% discount on room rent during off peak season and 25% discount during peak season. In addition, 35% discount will be offered on swimming pool, 10% on food, and 50% on gymnasium.
The signing ceremony was held on January 24, 2012 at Citycell Head Office, Mohakhali, Dhaka. Mr. Mahboob Hossain, Chief Customer Care Officer and Chief Project Management Office of Citycell and Mr. Rashed Us Sattar, Head of Sales and Marketing of Seagull Hotels Limited signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organizations.
Other officials of the both the organizations were also present at the signing ceremony.

The prize giving and closing ceremony of Citycell 25th National Basketball Championship 2011 was held on January 11, 2012 at Dhanmondi Indoor Basketball Gymnesium in the city. Prizes were also given to the Champions of Citycell Federation Cup Basketball Championship 2011, Citycell 3on3 Basketball Championship 2011 and Citycell Bijoy Dibosh Basketball Championship 2011.
The Chief Guest of this program was Mr. Abul Kalam Azad, MP, Hon’ble Minister, Ministry for Information and Cultural Affairs, Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh. Mr. David Lee, Chief Operating Officer of Citycell attended the program as Special Guest. Dr. Mostafa Jalal Mohiuddin, MP, President of Bangladesh Basketball Federation, Mr. Taslim Ahmed, Head of Corporate Communications and Public Relations of Citycell with other officials of the federation and Citycell were also present at this program.

Citycell is participating in BCS Digital Expo Sylhet 2012, an annual gala exposition of the latest ICT products. This fair has started on January 3, 2011 and will end on January 7, 2011. With the theme 'Digital Education for Digital Bangladesh', Computer Samity, Sylhet branch has organized this fair at Mohammad Ali Gymnasium, Rikavi Bazaar, Sylhet. The opening ceremony of Citycell 25th National Basketball Championship 2011 was held on December 31, 2011 at Dhanmondi Indoor Basketball Gymnasium. Bangladesh Basketball Federation is the organizer and Citycell is the sponsor of this tournament. Barrister Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh, MP, Dhaka-12, Member, Parliamentary Standing Committee, Ministry for Power, Energy & Mineral Resources, Ministry for Law, Justice & Parliamentary Affairs was present as the Chief Guest in this program. Mr. David Lee, Chief Operating Officer of Citycell attended the inauguration ceremony as the Special Guest. Dr. Mostafa Jalal Mohiuddin, MP, President of the Bangladesh Basketball Federation, Mr. Taslim Ahmed, Head of Corporate Communications and Public Relations of Citycell with other officials of the Federation and Citycell were also present at the inauguration ceremony.
